New Zealand Fashion Week

2017 to 2021

My involvement with New Zealand Fashion Week began in 2017 with the design of the 24-page official show guide. By 2021, I was leading the full visual output of the event, spanning website, marketing campaigns, daily show guides, event collateral, and large-scale way finding signage.

Over four years, I effectively served as Lead Graphic Designer, shaping the visual expression of NZFW across every touchpoint.

The role presented significant challenges: tight budgets, evolving stakeholder expectations, restricted access to photography, and ultimately the disruption of Covid. Each year required a fresh creative direction while working within practical and financial constraints.

To support the evolution of the event, I developed two complementary logo marks designed to sit alongside the heritage NZFW and Fashion Weekend identities, introducing a more contemporary layer to the brand as it moved forward.

I also created the 20th Anniversary logo to mark a major milestone for the event. Although the 2020 edition was cancelled just days before opening due to Covid.

Across four years, I delivered cohesive, scalable design systems that balanced prestige, practicality, and adaptability, ensuring the event maintained a strong and consistent presence through both growth and uncertainty.
